Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible, keep it in the EU where we can, and never sell it. Last updated 26 August 2026.
1. Data controller
Area81 Solutions AB, org.nr 559099-5550, Sweden, is the controller for personal data processed on alexplugins.com. Contact: hello@alexplugins.com.
2. What we collect and why
Orders and accounts: name, email, company details, billing information and order history — to deliver what you bought, issue licences, provide support and meet Swedish bookkeeping law (legal bases: contract and legal obligation; retained 7 years per bookkeeping requirements).
Forms: what you write in the contact and plugin-request forms, so we can answer you (legal basis: legitimate interest; retained while the conversation is relevant).
Licence & update checks: when a site with one of our plugins checks for updates, we receive the site URL, plugin version, licence key, and PHP/WordPress version. This is what makes automatic updates, compatibility monitoring and support possible (legal basis: contract). Our optional error reporting sends no error messages, file paths or personal data — only version numbers and an anonymous error fingerprint.
Statistics: we use privacy-respecting aggregate site statistics to understand which pages are read. No advertising trackers, no sale of data.
3. Who we share data with
Only the processors needed to run the service: our hosting provider, our payment providers (who process your payment details under their own terms), and our email provider. We do not sell or rent personal data. Where processors operate outside the EU/EES, transfers rest on EU standard contractual clauses.
4. Cookies
We use the cookies required for the shop to function (cart, checkout, login) and cookie-light aggregate statistics. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format. Write to hello@alexplugins.com — we respond within 24 hours on business days. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se).
6. Security
Data is protected with encryption in transit, access controls, and the same security practices we apply in the software we build. Licence keys in our revocation system are stored as cryptographic hashes.
7. Changes
Updates to this policy are published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
